-- Alles. Absoluut alles is illusie. -- Niemand is illegaal. Everytime we approach any answer, the question undergoes a transformation.
-- When I see how sarcasm takes over the world, how far right gains strength, how life itself gets taken over by multi-billion corporations, how information gets logarithmic on our asses, how for the youngster reality and virtuality get mixed up more and more, how psychopaths become a target marketing group on their own and how worldwide - Anonymous, Fema, Transition etc. - different movements are started bottom-up to try to counteract the big brother spiral, I wonder: at what signal did the Roman citizens realize their civilisation was about to fall and become history? As it has been said: civilization is the transition between barbarism and decadence. -- There is no meaning? All life is just a random pattern? Maybe the meaning of life might is just that: the search for a meaning. -- Death? Let's imagine reality as a purely material event. Death as nothing but the decay of cells. Consciousness as a complex electrical interaction between neurons and synapses. Quite plausible imho, if it were not for a small quirk: the natural fear of death which appears in most living organisms might hint at something different, namely the innate knowledge of a bigger picture. If our cells intrinsically knew the finality of the moment of death, wouldn't we simply feel at peace with an inevitable rest, just as we accept all other stages of existence? I wouldn't underestimate the cellular intelligence, it took us this far. So if there was only oblivion at the end, void, vacuum, nothing - and thus, nothing to be afraid of, how did the secular and recurring fear get programmed into our DNA - if it were not from something beyond the manifested world of perceptions? -- Would you take the red pill or the blue pill? Fucking hell, screw Ericksonian hypnosis, I'll take a beer! -- Ritorno Macro- and microprosopus: kaballah tells the downward story. We're supposed to inverse the movement and go back. On the other hand, it seems natural to most to visualize a soul inside our bodies. And Kaballah indeed tells us the Adams - from the man Adam, the material world or body, to Adam Adamah (the soul) and Adam Betzalmenu (the spirit) to Adam Kadmon (the divine) - are to be found inside one another, but the other way around: the body inside the soul inside the spirit inside the divine. Maybe we should try to think like Cyrus Teed: our body, the materiality as the outer, superficial shell; and the deeper we logarithmically travel inside the further we part from this mortal coil and the more we travel towards the consciousness singleton at the core. Kind of brings a spin to Gehenna as well, the ultimate way to get lost in ones own personal hell, digging deeper and deeper outwards into an infinite self-made illusion. There are as many perpendiculars on the world as there are individuals. But the center has no perpendicular at all, at all. -- "Eternity in a grain of sand". In a grain of salt maybe, and maybe that phrase has an alchemical meaning. Back then Flamel defined a new, third essence, next to sulphur and mercury. -- Map and territory Our thoughts, symbols, language, structures, patterns, on one side and consensus reality on the other. And through their interaction, the growing realization that the territory itself is a treasure map for a third reality: the spiritual. Korzybski might have build a structural differential with and extra compartment at the top of the paraboloid. A translucent sphere perhaps, the centre of which being everywhere. In alchemy it took some time before Paracelsus decided to revolutionize the dual worldview of Sulphur and Mercury. In a fit of enlightment he evoked three principles - Salt (the body or material world, the first territory), Mercury (the soul or the mental world, the first map consisting of symbols, myths, language) and Sulphur (the spirit or spiritual world). Sulphur might be the hidden territory, mapped in the material world and slightly percieved through our incomplete senses, hence the similarities in both alchemy and astrology between the material and the spiritual; the matter being abstracted further by our thinking, resulting in a meta-map, hence the belief of the Aristotelians in a higher mathematical reality of archetypes. In most cases, philosophers consider a duality: material-spiritual, mental-spiritual or material-mental, this last being the basis of the current paradigm originating in the Renaissance, the Age of Reason. Maybe every period in human history can be labelled as based upon one of the three above realty tunnels, and only few as Paracelsus did see the two-dimensional triangle of human reality. Giambattista Vico also accounted for three ages of man in consecutive historical cycles. We might think of an infinite recess of maps being territories for other maps, or territories being maps from other territories. Maybe the simplest stone can and will ultimately become spiritual as seen by both Buddhism and Kabbala. -- Büchenwald. A forest of books. To me the very idea of paradise. To my father the absolute hell he wanted to help liberate, lying about his age. He was 16 and found himself in military gear walking in a world of corpses. Twee tegenstrijdige bedenkingen.
My words define my world. Mijn fantasie is echt. Elke dag opnieuw. -- Ik ben een cataloog van verloren liefdes. Anderen verzamelen postzegels of memorabilia, ik verzamel onthechtingen. -- Niemand is illegaal.
Everyone can and will change, although some may have the illusion that it takes forever. Stretchable times.
-- The Hermetic Operating System has a lot in common with the Mythological OS. Kernel: transformation through epiphany. Interface: ethical tale. See Frances Yates' Giordano Bruno and Joseph Campbell's Hero with 1000 faces. -- "Are you ready to die for your beliefs?" How many would realize the kabbalistic interpretation of this classic movie phrase and perceive the epiphany? -- Traagheid Adults have lost mosbunall sense of wonder. It fits their material form: growing slightly older every day so slowly it's almost imperceptible, towards a perfect, static world. What a difference with the period from childhood to puberty, with its impressive bodily transformations, and even more, how miraculous were the first nine months in the womb: from a singularity to a foetus, as a speeded up reenactment of the primordial soup. Imagine an adult human being evolving into something completely different in the course of the same period. Doesn't that sound like cheap science-fiction? That is the amount of how our sense of wonder is numbed down. Why does the physical transformation start to slow down from the moment of birth? And why does the mental flexibility follow the same pace if we're not extremely self-cautious? It's almost as if we're born into a sea of hardening concrete, swimming forward like in Zeno's paradox, performing at each crawl half of the remaining distance, never reaching our goal. Jarry imagined death to be the slowing down of time, to the point of never touching the ultimate in a perpetual state of dying. Death as penultimate stasis. Maybe from conception to demise we keep evolving at a regular pace, but it's our perception of this process that changes? Or maybe what we naturally define as the only constant, our consciousness, is anything but static and is in perpetual transformation. Consciousness ("I") seem to be a verb. Something to work on at every moment, in the realisation of what is blatantly shown to us on the world stage: the initial velocity in which our physical form is shot into the world, permanently slowed down by our natural entropy. If we're not permanently aware of this process our consciousness will follow the same path into the hardening concrete. In Dutch catholicism the capital sin of lazyness is called 'traagheid' or slowliness. -- On one side of the door is written "Gnothi seauton" and on the other "Arrête! C'est ici l'empire de la mort". But on which side are we? -- Truth The golem is a magickal creature born from words. Isn't that that a metaphor for how we realize reality? The golem seems to be the key, the symbol of the ultimate illusion. We create our reality by continuously feeding our neurological networks with symbols. We create our own mind. A world made of words. But there is no moral indignation in the previous statement. It's just an assessment of how the Flow works, of how the Work flows. Le Grand-Oeuvre devoilé. The golem is brought to life, after having combined the four elements (yet another formalisation of reality), ultimately by engraving the word 'EMET' on his forehead. A word which means... Truth. -- Maybe sometimes nothing happens for a reason. The absence of cause leading to this very moment. -- Prayer I pray all the time. And I do not believe in god at all, at all. One of the biggest misconceptions in the history of religion, next to the assumed correlation between fear and faith - fear of death and faith in an all-knowing comforting superior being - might be the use of prayer as a functional tool. Most people pray to fullfill a need: to receive a new chance, forgiveness, health, wealth, happiness, status quo. Prayer has nothing to do with balancing exterior assets. Praying is digging deep down and acting as one should act in the given circumstances, with the given talents and shortcomings, towards the one goal alongside the chosen path. Prayer is the activity needed in order to wake up and know thyself. This means facing every aspect of the self and seeing through the illusions of the world we live in. The perceived duality might be one of the hardest illusions to dissolve. In this regard, no god nor demon is needed to ascertain this point of view, in fact quite the contrary in my opinion. But I don't exclude (in fact, in rare moments of epiphany it even seems quite plausible to me) there might exist higher levels of consciousness once the veil is broken. What appears as complete quackery to me though is the idea that some higher being would feed on our praise and in return would grant us some wishes. The traditional depiction of god the father in catholic imagery always reminded me of Santa Claus and his wrapped-up presents for the chosen ones. The core goals of organised religion seem to restrain quite some aspects of spiritual growth. Indeed trust in a superior force opposes true responsability, fear of its anger opposes serenity, desire of its abondance opposes acceptance to let go. In a general manner every organised religion keeps its followers in a blissful state of eternal childhood whereas an individual, conscious of hirs spirituality, needs to transform perceptions and assumptions continuously in order to evolve out of this state. It seems to me any spiritual activity must start from the individual. In order to dissolve the individual. And organised belief systems, into which I'd reckon not only religion but pretty much most sociological games, from politics to science, appear to bring about a sense of superior force while its most blazing effect lays in the fondling of the individual ego in the confinment of canned dogmas. (Cheshire who fell off of his tree smiling too hard) Elke kunstuiting is deels kunde, deels propaganda.
